The Battleford's Sailing Club has been in continuous operation since 1964 and now has a very functional clubhouse located in the Village of Meota, on 200 feet of sandy beach on Jackfish Lake about 40 km north of North Battleford. Jackfish lake is about five miles across and generally has a gently sloping shoreline with long stretches of sandy beaches. It is not suitable for keelboats unless you want to anchor a long way out. Winds are generally out of the northwest and there are no mountains to block the view of approaching storms.
